Many sellers of sneakers and buyers, turn to Facebook to communicate and set up a normal meet up; however, Facebook is not the best website to use. Solecollector cautions all sellers and buyers of sneakers to avoid using Facebook. In the video below, Police officers explain how one buyer known as 20-year-old Eric Figueroa pulled out a gun on a seller of the sneakers during a sneaker sale meet up. Figueroa was reportedly trying the sneakers on when he decided to pull out a gun on the seller and made threats of not returning the shoes.

Thankfully Figueroa used his actual name on Facebook, so police were able to track him down but this happens more commonly than you would expect. Figueroa is being held on $50,000 bail and is charged with robbery, threats, harassment, and theft. Click on the link and take the proper precautions when selling or purchasing shoes. Let this be a lesson for all and many should actually look into applications for phones where you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to buy and sell sneakers. Many should look into more secure ways to sell and buy their sneakers.
