Kendrick Lamar recently sat down with MTV amid his hectic schedule to discuss his new album To Pimp a Butterfly. In the video, Lamar explains the meaning behind some of the lyrics and songs off the new release. Focusing on the intro track “Wesley’s Theory,” K-Dot believes members of his community are ill-equipped for the financial responsibilities resulting from a successful career in the entertainment industry, once again alluding to the fact that America’s societal odds are unfairly stacked.
