A New Jersey boy got a sneaker upgrade courtesy of the local fire department after being bullied over his shoes.

12-year-old Jonathan Moran, who appears in the above video from WIAT, says that a bully was making fun of his sneakers and calling him fat, and then started beating him up on the bus on the way home from school.

EMT and firefighters responded to a call for a fight on a bus, driving Jonathan home after treating him. But, they decided to take things a step further by surprising Moran with a t-shirt, some socks, a wooden flag, and new sneakers – the pair of Nike LeBron 12 Lows that Jonathan proudly shows off in the clip above.

“I love them a lot,” Jonathan says of his new shoes.

It’s safe to say that this particular pair of LeBrons isn’t one that Jonathan will ever forget.
