Packer Shoes is next in line for collaborations on the Diadora N.9000, having brought in Raekwon for this fitting celebration of the 20th anniversary of his classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… album.
The shoe’s tonal purple colorway references the infamous “purple tape” cassette that set the album apart from others on the shelves at the time. Furthering the theme are insoles that feature the full track listing of the album. Other references to the Chef’s masterpiece include the parental advisory-style tongue label, the “1995” embroidery toward the heel, and the numbers on the back that reflect the two sides of the tape.
Like the rest of the Diadora N.9000 collab projects, these are made in Italy.
The Packer Shoes x Raekwon x Diadora N.9000 “Purple Tape” will release via Packer on Aug. 20 exclusively at S.O.B.’s in NYC, with a Raekwon concert to follow that evening.
