Those who’ve been riding with Nike Basketball since the early 90s will look at the new Nike Hyperrev 2016 and notice the influences from an oft-forgotten model: the Nike Air Shake NDestrukt. The Hyperrev series is as ever-changing as Nike’s signature athlete models, as the past three years have given us silhouettes that are unrecognizable to the precursors. Here a unique forefoot strap holds down the majority of the mesh and fuse based upper while a neoprene slip-on construction is sure to add a lockdown fit and sense of comfort around the ankle collar. The Hyperrev 2016 also boasts large Swoosh branding in a similar way that James Harden’s unofficial signature, the Nike Hyperchase, did with the crooked finish. We’re sure to see plenty of colorways of this sleek new model throughout the new year, but what do you think of the first look?
